Kinematics

Lesson 1.1: Distance, Position and Displacement

Distance, Position and Displacement - This lesson is going to introduce students to the concept of kinematics.  This lesson is about developing student understanding of distance, position, and displacement.  Students will also be introduced to draw and understand vector scale diagrams

Lesson 1.2: Speed and Velocity

Speed and Velocity - This lesson will help students develop an understanding between position-time, velocity-time, and acceleration time graphs.  In this lesson, students learn to draw a velocity-time graph from acceleration-time graph and acceleration-time graph from a velocity-time graph.

Lesson 1.3: Acceleration

Acceleration - This lesson is covers the topic of (uniform) acceleration.  It develops students’ understanding of acceleration, position-time and velocity-time graphs.

Lesson 1.4: Comparing graphs of linear motion

Comparing graphs of linear motion - This lesson compares all the different graphs we have learned so far:  position-time, velocity-time, and acceleration-time.  Given one type of graph, students will learn how to draw another type of graph.
