Lesson 5:
The unit ends with a Rube Goldberg Machine project. The following video can be used to introduce what this is:
In groups of 4 students will create a rude Goldberg device with a minimum of five components. Students will present their product to the class in a gallery walk format on the final day of the project. Students will be required to estimate the kinetic, gravitational and total mechanical energy of each of the five components.
Following the end of the project, students are asked to reflect on one success and one thing they'D do differently related to their project.
